This is a LAMS task about the Australian Government for a Stage 3 class that Emma and I created. It is a fun, interactive way for the students to learn about the Government. It has games, treasure hunts and research questions that will give a basic introduction to the topic of Government.
This is my digital story that I created about a teaching experience I have had about the outdoors. This relates to my other post about digital video goes to school. There are so many different mediums available for schools to use that enhance collaborative learning.
This article about building software is a great example of constructionist learning. It explains about what constructionist learning is and the advantages of usingit in the classroom. i feel it would be a great asset to learning as the students become the teacher or “driver” of their own learning experience. This creates a motivation to learn and teach amongst students.
This happened on my most recent prac where the yr4 students had to pair up with a yr3 student in my composite class and learn about china. It was exciting to see the yr4 students take charge of the situation and nurture the yr3 students in their learning. I cannot wait to use more constructionist learning in my classroom in the future.

This artical about Digital video in the school is an inspiring article about how to use digital media in the classroom and the advantages it gives your students. It gives you step by step instructions on how to use the media and why you should use it in your classroom. Whether it be digital newscasts or interviews, video creates and captures emotions and processes that the students go through.
On my most recent practicum the students used digital video to create their own interviews about dragons. They were to prepare their script, shoot the movie, then edit their work.It was amazing to me to see stage two students being able to use this technology so easy. It is exciting to know that we are heading in that direction as a society.

Smartboards in the classroom. 2008. Professional Development Career and Technology Education (CATE)
After teaching on Prac using a Smartboard my eyes have been opened to endless teaching possibilities. It is amazing to see hat even Kindergarten students are able to use a smartboard to enhance their learning. Smartbaords can be used in any KLA and make learning more fun and visual for the students. This is a video I found about Smartboards being used in the classroom which shows even more ways than I imagined about how smartboards can be used in the classroom so check it out.
This is a comic about E-Learning in the classroom that Emma and I created. It explains that the role of the teacher is like a gardner planting seeds. Also that children are like seeds needing nurturing and care.
This is a fantastic video i found on TeacherTube which would be really great to show your class. It is of a class making up a rap based on Eminems “Lose Yourself” about technology to win a competition, but i think it would be great in inspiring your students to use technology in the classroom. The video shows that technology can be cool and fun for all ages. It may also encourage your students to complete their work in a more imaginative way and actually be excited about learning.I recommend showing it to your class.

This was a really fascinating article about the use of games in the classroom. It is not rocket science to realise that children are more likely to respond and learn from games rather than from paper based work and yet the question is still being asked: Why don’t they listen in class? Reading this article made it seem very simple to answer. As stated in the article students don’t have the “Don’t Buy” option with school. They are told that they have to go which makes school less attractive. If the students had something to look forward to when they got to school such as learning geography through the game Sim City or have a technology based curriculum which the UK are developing now. they are going to put a focus on games which i feel will be a great incentive to the curriculum. The only drawback from this plan is that they have to make sure that they cover every aspect of the curriculum because it would be a shame if the students got so caught up in playing games that they didn’t learn important units of work that past generations have.
This was a very interesting video about the use of handheld devices as learning tools. Devices such as I-Pods, GPS, playstation consoles and mobile phones are being used in the UK as new ways of storing educational information.
I found this to be a useful video to have, as children are becoming so advanced in technology and gadgits these days that it is smart for teacher to keep up with the trends and introduce learning into the technology. I agree with Caity in that M-Learning provides endless possibilities in learning outside the classroom and will also encourage those who are not motivated to learn.
